Zanneke Djura H

Friesian Mare

Born 6/12/2007

Sire: Wobke 403

Dam: Djura B imp. (Teunis X Jochem)

From the very first we knew Zanneke was special. She was our first foal conceived by imported frozen semen. There was much rejoicing upon her arrival because the success rate of pregnancies in Friesian horses via this method is very low in Australia.

With her superb head, beautiful front, curls and extreme trot she has always had many admirers. Her sire is the very impressive Wobke 403 and her dam was our second imported mare, Djura B.
Zanneke, aka Andi, after our vet Andrew Argyle who was instrumental in bringing about her conception, has been shown on five occasions. Firstly, as a weanling at the 2008 NSW All Breeds Foal Show she was awarded Champion Friesian Foal and then overall Champion of the Horse Ring. At the 2008, 2009 and 2010 All Breeds Young stock Shows Andi was awarded Champion Friesian and Champion of the Horse Ring each time.
At the 2008 show, she exceeded all expectations when she was awarded Grand Champion of the show. Twelve youngsters of various breeds were considered for this prestigious award and amazingly, Andi was chosen. We believe there were over 150 entries on the day.
After not competing for over twelve months, in 2012 we took Andi to an all breeds winter show where once again she was awarded Champion Friesian.
In 2012, Andi was broken to harness and paired with Fardau, competed very successfully in a series of Combined Driving Events in the winter season.
