The quest for the ideal harness horse has always been the driving force behind Huntington Stud since its beginnings in 1975. To this end, in 2000, we purchased Xavier as a weanling to further our dream. Watching him grow from a bright eyed, woolly baby into the fine baroque stallion he is today, has been a joy.
With his incredibly long wavy mane (currently past his knees), tail and thick feathers flying, Xavier was well known around Sydney and the Southern Highlands where he participated in a wide variety of ridden and driven activities. His achievements in the show ring are impressive with multiple champion awards in led classes, under saddle and in harness. He is equally at home on trail rides and pleasure drives; always behaving perfectly in mixed company.
Xavier has sired many purebred and part bred progeny. One client has sent seven mares over the years to Xavier with the aim of breeding calm, sensible and good looking horses for Pony Club or less confident riders. His progeny is renowned for their good minds and excellent work ethic.
Sadly, in our opinion, baroque style Friesians such as Xavier are becoming rarer because of the KFPS’ desire to produce taller, finer horses more suited to ridden dressage.
Xavier was the beginning of our ‘love affair’ with the Friesian horse. Not many stallions are as versatile or accomplished as Xavier. He is the ‘whole package’….beautiful, talented, gentle and obliging…..a true Friesian!

Xavier stands at stud to selected mares by live cover only.. His fee is $880 (incl. GST)

Xavier is free of the Dwarfism and Hydrocephalus genes.
